McMinnville’s Tourism Development Board is one vote away from being a reality.The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved on first read its bylaws and an operating manual. It also outlined how the group will function and the responsibilities of its officers.By the manual, the Tourism Development Board will have seven directors to oversee business. Five members shall be appointed by the city and serve staggered two-year terms, while the mayor and the McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce president will be standing members.Officials approved $75,000 for the Chamber in its 2017-18 fiscal year budget as an administrative fee for its work with TDB.Alderman Mike Neal asked city attorney Tim Pirtle where in the bylaws is the Chamber’s involvement with TDB.“Every budget year you are going to consider funding for this entity as you do the Chamber of Commerce in the usual course,” said Pirtle.
