Three were injured on Tuesday evening in a wreck that caused an SUV to flip on its side.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a call came in to dispatch about a crash at S. Chancery St. and Vervilla Road. Lt. Jody Cavanaugh was the first on the scene.

According to Cavanaugh, McMinnville resident Tiffany Garrett, 34, was driving her 2008 black Chevy Tahoe westbound on Morrison St. and attempted to cross the intersection at S. Chancery St.

Morrison resident Abby Bond, 26, was driving a 2011 gray Jeep southbound on S. Chancery St. As Bond entered the intersection, the Jeep struck the Tahoe, causing the Chevy to roll over. When Cavanaugh arrived on the scene, he found the Jeep in the middle of the intersection facing northbound, and the Tahoe was lying on its passenger side.

Both Garrett, Bond and a passenger in the Tahoe were all three transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park for minor, non-life-threatening injuries. Patrolman Mark Mara said, “Seat belts were used and airbags were deployed, which we feel prevented further injuries, especially in a rolled-over car.” He added, “Neither driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.”

Bond reportedly admitted to running the red light. Mara said, “Fortunately, we had witnesses that helped us confirm that Ms. Bond ran the red light.” Bond has been cited for running the red light.
