Two men were killed when their plane crashed into a bean field off Sherrell Road in the Jacksboro community in November. The plane’s owner, Tommy Stiles, and flight instructor Larry Banks of Van Buren County died when the aircraft went into a nose dive and slammed into the ground after they flew into a cloud bank while returning from a trip to Alabama. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board with final report not expected for over a year.
