Temp checks scrapped

Temperature checks will no longer be required to enter Warren County Schools.

Warren County students will have an easier time entering school beginning this Monday morning.

Temperature checks will no longer be given to students as they are entering their schools. The decision was announced Friday after the Centers for Disease Control altered its COVID guidelines.

“The CDC is no longer recommending that schools conduct symptom screening on a routine basis, specifically taking temperatures, but rather strongly encouraging parents or guardians to monitor children for symptoms prior to school,” said Director of Schools Grant Swallows. “Beginning Monday, Feb. 8, temperatures for students will no longer be taken in the morning. ... We ask you do all you can to make sure your child is well before sending them to school.”

Morning temperature checks have been in place this entire school year.
