Valley Fertilize & Seed was targeted on Monday. 

It was initially reported that a single gunshot had shattered the front glass of the local feed and seed business on Smithville Highway, but deputies believe a different type of weapon was used in the attack. 

“A metal ball bearing was recovered at the scene that is believed to be from a slingshot,” said Sheriff’s Department Major Jason Walker. 

“It shattered the front glass of Valley Fertilize & Seed.” 

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Two individuals, a driver and a passenger, were involved.

“An employee witnessed the incident and reported seeing a white male subject hanging out the passenger side of a silver extended cab Chevrolet truck heading inbound toward McMinnville,” said Walker. “The front glass then shattered.”

Warren County deputies and McMinnville Police officers converged on Smithville Highway looking for a vehicle that matched that description. It was not located.
