Student hit while walking to bus stop

A high school student was hit by a pickup Thursday morning as she was walking to her school bus stop in the Centertown area.The student, Jocelyn Wardlaw, 18, was hit on the shoulder by a side mirror of a pickup as she was walking along Old Nashville Highway near Prater Town Road, according the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. Christopher Cooper was driving the truck.Wardlaw was transported to the hospital, but she is not believed to be seriously injured, according to Director of Schools Bobby Cox.“The main thing is her safety and it appears she’s going to be OK with only a minor injury,” said Cox. “Our health services people followed up with her to make sure she’s alright.
