A caregiver accused of taking advantage of an elderly woman says she didn’t take a dime from the lady and maintains her innocence on theft charges.“I’m innocent,” said Sherry Dawn Steakley of indictments rendered by the grand jury against her claiming credit card fraud, forgery, grand theft and exploitation of an elderly adult. “I never took anything from her bank account. I didn’t even have her PIN number.”Steakley is accused of taking $7,000 without permission from the woman’s account.
