WEB-SILVER-AND-GOLD
The Silver and Gold Band has two concerts in December to ring in the holiday season.
It is the longest continuous community band in the state and still going strong during its second century of existence. The Silver and Gold Band is set to hold two concerts for the holidays, the first coming Dec. 3 at First Baptist Church and the second at Three Star Mall on Dec. 17. Both begin at 3 p.m.“There is a long heritage associated with the Silver and Gold Band that goes back to its beginnings sometime in the 1880s,” said band member and historian Neil Schultz, noting its formation came thanks to tourism.
