A wreck involving a semi-truck left a telephone pole splintered on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Officer Tristan Shirley; Dalton Ansardi, 30, a McMinnville resident, was traveling outbound on Sparta Street in a Huff & Puff Trucking Inc. big rig.

McMinnville resident Shayna Donahue, 28, was driving a white 2020 Nissan Sentra, also traveling outbound, when she merged in front of the semi in the right lane.

Shirley said, “He didn’t slow down in time for the red light. The vehicle was coming to a stop when the semi hit the rear of the car.” Donahue then ran through the intersection and off the right side of the road and hit a telephone pole on the embankment.

The telephone pole splintered on impact, but remained standing. The Sentra came to a stop just feet away from cars in the Champion Chevrolet car lot across from the hospital. No one was cited, and neither participant involved was transported to the hospital.

The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m.
