Ten months after her 17-year-old son was shot and killed, Brandi Byars is still searching for answers about what happened that night.What is known is her son, Scout Sullivan, was killed the morning of Jan. 31, a Tuesday, off Short Mountain Road in the Blues Hill community. The incident happened just over the county line in Cannon County.Sullivan, a Warren County High School junior at the time, was on another person’s property in a rural area when he was killed.“You can’t shoot a kid and leave him lying there, even if I don’t have money,” said Byars. “He was shot in the face.
