There will be no changes to the end-of-year calendar for the Warren County School System.
The Tennessee Department of Education has granted a waiver to allow the school system not to meet the required 180 days of instruction.
Warren County went over its 10 stockpiled days by one because of five days missed in the fall due to COVID and six missed days in the winter due to bad weather. In addition, Morrison School missed a day due to a water issue.
That left the entire school system one day short and Morrison School two days short of the state requirement. School Board officials had discussed a couple of options, but the waiver from the state means those options are unnecessary and the end of the school year can finish as scheduled.
Tuesday, May 24 will be the last full day of school.
Wednesday, May 25 will be a professional development day for teachers only, no students.
Thursday, May 26 will be an abbreviated day that ends at 9:45 a.m. and will be the last day of the school year.
Graduation is set for Friday, May 27 at Nunley Stadium.
