Abdulla shares story of fleeing Saddam Hussein

Kasar Abdulla shared her refugee story with members of The Rotary Club of McMinnville on Thursday. In 1988, at age 6, she ran from Saddam Husseins armed forces intent on genocide killing every man, woman and child who lived in Kurdish communities.
At a time when most children are beginning school, Kasar Abdulla was in Iraqi running for her life from armed forces sent by Saddam Hussein to kill her, her family, and everyone else who lived in Kurdistan, Iraqi. “In 1988, I was an ordinary 6-year-old girl,” said Abdulla. “My favorite thing to do was to play with the pony.
