River Trail East to be dedicated Saturday

It has been a long road for a wooded trail, but the dedication ceremony for River Trail East will be held on at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15“The public and especially all who worked on the building the trail are welcome to meet at the picnic pavilion at Ramsey Park on Bernard Street for short speeches, lemonade, cookies and a hike on the easy 1.4 mile trail,” said Wally Bigbee. As part of the activities, Eagle Scout candidate Sebastian Dodge will recognize everyone who helped in building his Eagle Scout Service Project - a 24 foot long pedestrian bridge. He will then cut the ribbon for the trail to officially open it to the public.In preparation for the big day, nine volunteers met last Saturday morning and worked to put finishing touches on the trail.
