Questions linger over jail position
Warren County Jail

The Warren County Jail has a new jail administrator, but questions surround the departure of the previous one.

The county Safety Committee and Beer Board met at the jail Monday night and Commissioner Steven Helton asked Sheriff Tommy Myers what happened that led to the need for a new jail administrator.

“It is my understanding that you have changed jail administrators. I was wondering if you could talk about what happened?” asked Helton.

Said Myers, “I’ll say this without divulging stuff that happened here with our last jail administrator that is just going to stay between me and him. I do have a new jail administrator who has been doing a fabulous job since he has taken over. I know going forward we will be moving in the right direction.”

Scott Holloway took over the position of jail administrator in 2021 after previously being Jackie Rackley’s assistant jail administrator. He is no longer in that position and Mike Vann has taken over the job.

“Mike has been with us many, many years and he has done a little bit of everything. This guy is a leader to say the least. He knows how to lead and that is what I need here moving forward and I am very excited about that,” said Myers. “It’s not easy to run a jail and Mike understands what needs to be done.”
