A grand prize package valued at more than $500 will be one of the highlights this Saturday as the seventh annual Marketville takes place at the Blue Building.
There will be a car show, vendors selling food and merchandise, and door prizes galore. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The grand prize has been billed as a Mother’s Day basket for the ages. Ten local businesses have donated to the giveaway. Everyone who attends Marketville can register for this door prize with the drawing to be held at 1 p.m. You must be present to win.
The grand prize includes everything from fine jewelry to fine food. There are also hair and beauty products and a one-year subscription to the Standard.

The top 25 finishers in the car show will receive a colorful plaque that makes a great keepsake.
To provide even more excitement, Party Animals will be bringing a camel and micro pig from its stable. The animals will be available beginning at 10 a.m.
McMinnville Fire Department will also have one of its firetrucks available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
To help make the event a downtown celebration, First Presbyterian Church will be holding a pancake fundraiser breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in its basement fellowship hall.
The nearby Black House will open its doors for tours of the historic downtown home from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The regular admission fee of $5 applies and goes toward Black House upkeep.
