The decades-long tradition of Pork and Bands is in tune to continue next weekend at WCHS. The event begins at 2:30 p.m. next Saturday, April 30, and culminates with a 6 p.m. performance from the high school band. Pictured is last years Pork and Bands.
As the school year nears its final note, local band students are getting in tune for the performance that will punctuate their season like a snare drum.Pork and Bands is next weekend at WCHS with performances starting at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30.“This is something that goes back to when I was in high school and I graduated in 1987,” said Pork and Bands chair Rusty Montandon, who was a three-year member of the band in high school. “One thing we’re doing differently this year is we’re going to make it easier for the elementary school band members and the middle school band members to talk to the high school students to learn about their band experiences from their point of view. What we want to do is keep interest.
