Newby Parton was always a bright fish in the Warren County pond, but it was unknown how he’d compare once he swam into the intellectual ocean of Princeton University. After four years and an A in every course he’s taken, Parton has been named a recipient of the prestigious Pyne Honor, the highest general distinction that can be conferred to an undergraduate at Princeton. “I expected to be an average, middle-of-the-road student here,” said Parton, a McMinnville native.
