Park Theater will begin offering Dinner and a Show in April during the Jason Crabb performance.
“There will be dining on our mezzanine area,” said Park Theater manager Kevin Roberts. “We are going to start off with seating for 30 to 35 people and see how it goes. If it takes off like we expect it to, then we will add more seating in the back.”
Collins River BBQ and Cafe is partnering with Park Theater.
“We have formed a partnership with Collins River BBQ and they will be doing a catered buffet dinner,” said Roberts. “It will be a dinner with a choice of a couple meats, three to four sides, dessert, tea, sodas, water. It will be elegant dining.”
Dinner and a Show will be approximately $140 for a table, which seats four. The breakdown: cost for the meal is $15 per person, which includes sales tax, meaning a party of four is $60 for the meal. Plus there is the cost for the show. If the show is $15 per person, a party of four will be approximately $80 with fees, taxes, etc.
“It’s a package deal but we have to break the cost down. When you purchase the table, you purchase everything. We have to break it down because of sales tax requirements and stuff. We’re doing the tickets and Collins River BBQ is doing the dinner, so we have to break it down,” said Roberts.
In the beginning, Dinner and a Show will be tables of four only with the intent to add tables for two later.
The first opportunity for Dinner and a Show will be Jason Crabb at the end of April. Crabb is a Grammy-award-winning, Christian singer and musician. He was the longtime powerhouse lead vocalist for the group The Crabb Family until 2007.
In 2010, Crabb obtained his Grammy Award. In 2012, he took home Male Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards, as well as Artist of the Year, giving him 20 Dove Awards throughout his career.
Crabb is on his way to becoming a sold-out show for Park Theater.
“We’ve already sold over 200 tickets and he won’t be here until the end of April,” said Roberts.
For those who do not want to partake in Dinner and a Show, regular seating tickets are sold. Diners will be at tables in the mezzanine area of the theater.
Among other upcoming events that will offer a dinner option: comedian T.C. Cope, the musical band Finding Favour, the musical band Smoke ‘n Guns, and singer Meredith Andrews.
