The McMinnville Evening Exchange Club held its annual “One Nation Under God” prayer breakfast early Tuesday morning. Serving biscuits, eggs, sausage and fruit to a number of community leaders, the event was held at Central Church of Christ. Some of the attendees included local elected officials, law enforcement and educators.
This year’s speaker was Pastor Travis Wanamaker of Pearls of Christ Church. His speech centered on the biblical story of Elijah and he discussed biblical themes of moral law, mercy and compassion and finding a happy medium. “Hate the sin, but love the sinner,” he summarized.
Neva England, club president, welcomed guests, while past national president, Ken Roberts, recognized law enforcement officials including McMinnville Police Chief Nichole Mosley and Warren County Sherriff Jackie Matheny, Jr. Also present were Road Superintendent Levie Glenn, District Attorney Chris Stanford and County Executive Terry Bell.
Warren County Schools were represented by administrators, staff and students from elementary schools Bobby Ray and Morrison, as well as Warren County Middle School and Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT).
The McMinnville Evening Exchange Club hosts the annual event in conjunction with the national Thanksgiving holiday. The club has been meeting since 1925. They currently meet twice a month.
