Young Men United will be offering a night to remember this Saturday, Nov. 13, at Bernard Community Center.
“We’re hosting an Old School Senior Prom on Saturday at 7 p.m.,” said Young Men United vice president Ella Richmond. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. Put on your dancing shoes and join us for a night of dancing and music. Dress to impress or wear your Sunday best.”
A prom king and prom queen will be selected. Those honorary titles were bestowed on Greg Martin and Rita Ramsey in 2019. A prom was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Proms are an end-of-the-year formal dance. This prom has an added benefit of being a fundraiser for the continued restoration and preservation of the Bernard gym. Single tickets are $15, while couples are $25. The event is for ages 30 and up.
“We’re going to have a fashion show and door prizes,” said Richmond. “We always have a lot of fun.”
Bernard Community Center is located at 103 Bernard Drive. The dance begins at 7 p.m. and concludes at 11 p.m.
