A two-car collision caused minor injuries on Beersheba Hwy. Thursday evening.
According to Sgt. Holden Baker at the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Marvin Turner, Jr., 53, was traveling northbound on Hwy. 56 on Thursday afternoon with Barbra Curry, 68, in the passenger seat. They were in a black 2011 Mazda MX-3 approaching the intersection at Shellsford Road.
Kaiya Sliepenbeek, 17, was driving a black 2012 Nissan Sentra and was stopped at the eastern stop sign on Shellsford Road, waiting to turn north onto Beersheba Hwy., the same direction the Mazda was heading. She reportedly failed to yield to Turner, and the vehicles struck each other.
The impact knocked the Mazda onto Shellsford Road on the opposite side. The Nissan came to a rest off the road beside the outgoing lane of Beersheba Hwy. It was reported that there was damage to the front passenger headlight of the MX-3, and the Sentra received front-end damage as well.
Curry was checked by Warren County EMS but declined transportation. No other injuries were reported at the time of the accident.
The crash occurred right before 4 p.m. on Thursday.
