The Industrial Development Board selected Wanda Sneed to be the new director of the Industrial Development Board. At the April 12 meeting, the IDB reiterated the specific skill sets they sought for the position. Those included qualifications such as being highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills, a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, marketing, planning, finance or an equivalent field. Additionally, the board wanted the candidate to have at least five years of business or economic development experience and training in economic development or equivalent credentials.
Sneed has over 15 years of experience working with marketing and business development in government at the state level. IDB chairman Jenny Nafrada mentioned having called Sneed the night before and said that she was excited about the possibility of filling the role.
There were some additional points that needed to be negotiated in regards to the compensation and benefits side of the employment package. This was a major part of the discussion at the April 20 meeting of the IDB. The total annual amount came to $121,271.
