Don’t put your snow boots away just yet.

Mother Nature will be bringing more snow to Middle Tennessee this weekend, if weather forecasts are accurate.

Forecasts seem united in the belief we will be getting snow on Sunday. What varies in the predicted amount of snow.

AccuWeather says 2-4 inches can be expected. WSMV Channel 4 in Nashville predicts anywhere from a couple inches to more than 8 inches with the heaviest accumulation south of I-40, an area which includes Warren County.

The Weather Channel, on its Thursday afternoon broadcast, predicted Middle Tennessee could get as much as 12-18 inches of snow with weather forecasters warning Sunday would not be a good day to be on the roads.

According to forecasts, rain is supposed to begin on Saturday and that rain will change to snow around midnight or in the early morning hours on Sunday.

In the case of snow, McMinnville Public Works will be ready. Snow plow operator Michael Bell said Thursday that city employees will be on call and will work to clear streets quickly.

“We’ll start with the main streets, the hills and the intersections first,” said Bell. “After we get those taken care of we’ll get to the residential areas.”
