Members of Midway FCEC met Nov. 1 at the Midway CIC Center for their monthly meeting. Betty Grissom and Elva Dean Bell served as hostesses, with president Dian Greene officiating. She welcomed guests Barbara Coran and Yalta Dunlap. Devotional leader Paula Barnes shared “Are You a Pumpkin?” and “Living it Day by Day.” She also provided cards and stamps for members to send to someone to brighten their day.
Roll call was conducted with the 12 attendees naming a favorite species of butterfly. Sue Adcock shared her collection of painted rocks, and Betty Whitlock displayed a pumpkin made from jar rings and one from a copper scrubber. Reading reports were given by Greene, Grissom and Barnes. Everyone enjoyed a fun game by Whitlock called The Price is Right.
Secretary Irene Fuston read the minutes, and they were approved. Treasurer Mary Rubley gave the financial report. Agent Hilda Lytle gave an informative program, “Express Your Stress,” and conducted a fun game. Delia Walker with the Family Resource Center at Warren County Middle School came and explained how our monthly donations benefits some of the students.
We were reminded of Santa’s Workshop and the fact we are to bring canned food for the food bank, and toys for the Rescue Squad Toy Drive.
Our hostesses served a delicious November lunch, with beautiful flowers gracing each table.
