Warren County Board of Education member Helen Martin has been honored by the Tennessee School Board Association as a master board member. This is the highest honor given to a School Board member in Tennessee.

“Helen is an excellent board member and has worked extremely hard to attend extra professional development activities to achieve this milestone,” said Director of Schools Bobby Cox. “Helen represents our community extremely well and serves as an at-large member on the Tennessee School Board Association serving at the state level. We are very proud of Helen and her accomplishments and we congratulate her.”

To reach this milestone, Martin completed a portfolio of work accomplishments during her membership on the Warren County Board of Education. The portfolio was judged by TSBA for the Level V TSBA boardsmanship status.

The news comes as the Warren County Board of Education was recognized by the Tennessee School Boards Association as the 2019 School Board of the Year.

This prestigious award as the state’s Best School Board is a tremendous honor, according to Cox, and one that no other Board of Education from Warren County has achieved.

“We are extremely excited and proud of our School Board members and the work they do to improve education in our community,” said Cox. “Our board works in harmony with school administration to provide leadership in our district acting in the best interest of the students Warren County.”
