A man has been given eight years in jail without hope of early release for molesting a child years ago.The man, Troy C. Martin, entered a no-contest plea before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to the charge of aggravated sexual battery. He was directed to serve 100 percent of an eight-year term, without chance of parole, and he will be registered with the sexual offender registry for the rest of his life. The crime for which Martin is going to prison actually happened several years ago but wasn’t reported until last year.“Martin was in prison for a while after the crime occurred and nothing was said about what happened,” said McMinnville police investigator Todd Rowland. “When the girl heard he was getting out, that’s when she came forward and told someone about what happened.”The girl, who was under 13 at the time of the crime, said she was touched in inappropriate areas by Martin.
