Smooth Rapids has long been your place for all things kayak.

The business is exploring new waters this year with Groovin’ by the River, a concert series which is preparing for its third show this Saturday, July 28.

Four bands are scheduled to perform and food and drink will be in abundance at what’s been dubbed the Smooth Rapids “campitheater.” Camping is permissible for those who want to stay all night.

“Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy a relaxing night with the river as your backdrop,” said Smooth Rapids co-owner Todd Barker. “We’ll have a great mix of music from rock to country.”

Gates open at 6 p.m. for food and vendors that include Topz and Yaki Wiz. Music starts at 7 p.m.

Seth Boyd & Co. are set to kick off the night with country twang and Southern drawl. The acoustic guitar work of songwriter Paul Cicero is scheduled to follow.

The night will take a synthesized turn with the beats of Kytoon.

Map of Mercury, a Nashville-based band, is set to close the evening with its rockin’ sound.

Groovin’ by the River is for all ages and pet friendly.

Tickets are $10.
