Police officers and ambulance service personnel respond to a home on Lind Street around midnight Friday where a man was shot and killed.

A man was shot and killed Friday around midnight at a home on Lind Street.

As of press time Saturday afternoon, law enforcement officials refused to identify the victim to the Standard. The person or persons responsible are still on the loose. No arrests had been made as of press time.

Emergency responders swarmed the scene late Friday night upon receiving a call of a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The Lind Street house is not far from Garfield Street and is in the McMinnville Civic Center area.

While medical personnel provided attention to the victim, officers began scouring the area for suspects. A red or maroon Chevy Malibu with no hubcaps, or black hubcaps, was identified as a vehicle of interest. Two men were reportedly inside.

On Saturday morning, the home was blocked with crime scene tape with a police officer stationed in front to prevent anyone from entering the property.

Despite repeated attempts by the Standard to get official confirmation on the identity of the victim, McMinnville Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office, and the TBI all declined to provide further information, citing the ongoing investigation.

In its official statement to the Standard, the TBI said, “At the request of 31st District Attorney General Lisa Zavogiannis, TBI agents are working alongside McMinnville Police Department to investigate the circumstances of a shooting incident in the 300 block of Lind Street late Friday night that resulted in a man’s death. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.”
