A Rock Island man was found dead underneath his pickup truck Thursday afternoon.The victim, Allen Alley, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident just after 4 p.m. near his residence on George Road which runs off Randal Hitchcock Road. He was found inside a detached garage by his wife after he had gone out earlier in the day to work on his truck.“It looks like he had put the truck up on four ramps and was working on the drive shaft,” said Sheriff’s Lt. Stan Hillis. “When he took off the drive shaft, the truck must have rolled off the ramps and rolled on top of him.”Hillis said it would be only speculation as to how long Alley had been under the truck before he was found as he was working alone.
