Land donation to Motlow possible soon

A measure by Warren County government to donate land to Motlow State Community College for a proposed expansion will be under consideration on Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m.The county Building and Grounds Committee unanimously approved the donation of 4.3 acres to Motlow on Tuesday, the final committee needing to provide its endorsement prior to consideration by the full Warren County Commission during its monthly session at the administrative building on Locust Street.According to County Executive Herschel Wells, Gov. Bill Haslam has dedicated $25 million to colleges across the state and officials from Motlow and Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) will be attempting to obtain $5 million of that money to build a robotics center. “Motlow, in conjunction with TCAT, is going to apply for a $5 million grant out of this $25 million,” said Wells.
