Jimmy Jones is back home, returning to his native Warren County last week to take the helm of the local contingent of the Highway Patrol.“I’m tickled to be home and this is where I hope to finish my career,” said Jones after becoming area sergeant for the troop which covers Warren County and Cannon County.He is replacing longtime troop leader Billy Prater, who was promoted to lieutenant last month and is now commanding Troop D, which includes Warren, Cannon, DeKalb and Smith counties. Jones previously covered Cumberland, White and Van Buren counties.“Sometimes working out of town you kind of lose touch,” Jones said, noting he was ecstatic when he got the call, informing him he had been chosen to the command sergeant’s job here. “I’m a Warren County boy.
