Pam Pescevic is widely known for her recycling efforts, often going through garbage cans after events like the Autumn Street Fair to separate plastic and cardboard from other trash.It was her emphasis on recycling that led to her winning the grand prize in the Southern Standard Valentine’s Day contest.“I was up at Topz collecting their cardboard for recycling when I saw the contest so I decided to enter,” said Pam. “I never win anything so this is great.”The entry box rotated around at several local businesses for two weeks before ending up at Topz for the last two days of the contest this past Sunday and Monday. Pescevic’s name was drawn from nearly 400 entries on Valentine’s Day at noon.Her list of prizes is immense and includes gift cards to restaurants like Gondola, J’s, and Boskey’s.
