It’s about to get loud in Viola as its Volunteer Fire Department holds Rumble in the Valley Truck & Tractor Pull this Saturday, May 27 at 7 p.m.
The tractor pull is endorsed by the Middle Tennessee Tractor Pullers Association with all MTPA sanctioned classes, which includes 4,000-pound mini truck, 5,500-pound super stock truck, 6,200-pound pro stock truck, 8,500-pound diesel truck, 6,200-pound LLSS tractors, and 11,000-pound hot farm. Unsanctioned classes: street gas trucks; street diesel trucks; farm tractor under 8,000 pounds; farm tractor over 8,000 pounds; dual wheel; front wheel assist tractors; semi-trucks.
Enjoy an evening of family friendly entertainment, while benefiting a worthy cause.
“This is a benefit for the fire department,” said Sam McColloch. “We always have to update our equipment pretty regularly.”
Rumble in the Valley attracts hundreds of spectators and pullers from across Tennessee and Kentucky.
During last year’s event, Rock Island resident Clay Bolding dominated in the 6,200 pro stock struck class with his truck named “Stinky Pete with a pull of 319.09, McMinnville resident Jeff Dykes took the lead in the 6,200 LLS tractor class with his tractor named “Alcoholic Deere” with a pull of 301.90, and Morrison resident David Shelton came in second place in the 5,500 economy hotrod tractor class with his tractor named “Farmall Fever.”
Rumble in the Valley Truck and Tractor Pull kicks off at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $10. Admission for children 6-12 years old is $5, while children 5 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at the gate only.
