'High School Musical' coming to Park
Local actors practice the last song of "High School Musical" called "We're All in This Together" during rehearsal Monday. The cast includes leads Luke Nafrada, white shirt, and Kara Caten, peach shirt.

Can a basketball star be a singer too?
That's the topic local high school students will literally dance around during an upcoming production of "High School Musical."
Shows are set for March 31 and April 1 at Park Theater. The play marks the sixth directed by Logan Taylor and he's been impressed by the work ethic of this group of 65 cast members.
"This is our largest cast ever so I was a little nervous about that, but this has just been a wonderful experience," said Taylor. "Audiences are going to be so pleased with how these young people have brought these dance numbers to life. You can get lost in the story. It's so real and it's touching."
The musical mirrors the classic Disney movie. It follows the life of basketball star Troy Bolton, who falls for a new girl at school, Gabriella Montez. The two share a love of singing, which Troy initially tries to suppress. Troy is played by Luke Nafrada, while Gabriella is played by Kara Caten.
Three shows are open to the public with Taylor saying early ticket sales have been brisk. The shows are Friday, March 31, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 1 at 2 and 7 p.m.
