Harvey family tradition continues

Kevin Harvey was a surprise guest for the evening and offered a crowd favorite of “The Grinch.”

Christmas was ushered in Friday with a heartwarming and humorous evening of “Hark at the Park! A Harvey Family Christmas” at Park Theater. 

Newcomers in the crowd learned why the event has become a hometown favorite. 

“This is my first year,” said Judge Bill Locke. “I wish I had come before now. I’m really enjoying it. I’ll be back next year. It’s a wonderful show.” 

The 11th annual event lasted more than two hours and featured Christmas melodies such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Joy to the World,” “Tender Tennessee Christmas,” “Celebrate Me Home,” “Bells will be Ringing,” “Angels Among Us,” “The 12 Days of Christmas” and much, much more. 

Artists were Chuck Jones, Highland Rim No. 9 and The Beach Sisters, Men’s Chorus, Gabriel Tate, Pacey Tate, Ballerinas of Hamilton Street, Scott Camp, Patsy Brison, Fantasia and Taylor Johnson Jones, Joe Harvey, and surprise guest Kevin Harvey with his crowd favorite, “The Grinch.” 

Musicians were Scott Camp, Joe Collier, John Harvey, Scott Harvey, Chuck Jones, Jason McVey, and Sarah McVey.

Performing during the event were the Ballerinas of Hamilton Street: Savannah Anderson, Miranda Austin, Layla Barger, Elexis Brinkley, Emily Brinkley, Elianis Castillo, Analeace Clark, Natalie Cox, Kaitlyn Fisher, Jaida Forsythe, Keiairra Forsythe, Liana Gamboa, Allie Gibson, Gabbie Gibson, Reyes Hernandez, Aliyah Jaco, Gabbi Jaco, Te Ann King, Jalynn Lance, Addy Rankin, Jasmine Mason, Liz Martin, Madison Rhea, Ariana Rosado, Lake Scheidler, Aubree Sims, Pennye Tate, Caleigh Tyson and Makenah Weir. 

Hamilton Street Activity Center offers the children ballet classes each Monday. 

Hark at the Park is a fundraiser for Magness Library and Hamilton Street Activity Center.
