A parking advisory has been issued for Warren County High School’s graduation ceremony this Friday. A shuttle service is being offered.
Parking is always an issue at Warren County Middle School during the high school’s commencement ceremony. However, this year will be even more so due to ongoing construction.
“One of the issues we are concerned about with high school graduation Friday night is that we’ve got construction projects going on at Warren County Middle School,” said Director of Schools Grant Swallows. “There are a lot of roof materials that are sitting in several parking spots. We have one parking lot that is completely destroyed.”
Guests will be shuttled to and from WCMS from the parking lots of Bobby Ray and West.
“So, with that in mind, we have contracted with Durham Services to provide shuttles from the parking lots at Bobby Ray Elementary and West Elementary,” said Swallows. “They will begin shuttling folks from about 5 p.m. to Nunley Stadium. After the ceremony, they will run until every last person is returned to their cars. We hope to never have to do that again, but it’s a service that we are going to provide.”
The 2022 graduating class has approximately 330 seniors.
Shuttle services begin at 5 p.m. The graduation ceremony starts at 7 p.m.
