Leading lawmen on a perilous chase through the rain has led to a two-year prison sentence for a local man.The fugitive, Joshua Wayne Goff, 36, was directed by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to serve two years in the state penitentiary on the charge of evading arrest with risk of death or injury. His other charge of second-offense driving on a suspended license was dropped as a result of the plea agreement. His prison sentence comes after sheriff’s investigator Steven Carpenter tried to pull him over on Short Mountain Road this summer.
