Fire departments will see more money from county

Behind a push from Harrison Ferry Fire Chief Lynn Curtis, volunteer fire departments were able to secure additional funding from the county.
Harrison Ferry Volunteer Fire Department has succeeded in its push to secure additional funding. The Warren County Commission approved allocation requests for fiscal year 2017-18 as presented on Monday night. Within it was doubling donations to each of the seven fire volunteer departments from $3,000 to $6,000 each.Harrison Ferry Fire Chief Lynn Curtis began urging the increase in March after residents in his area lost their fire protection due to no money available to pay for repairs on a firetruck.
