The latest fashions were on display recently as Tiger Lily Boutique held its Fall Fashion Show, an annual fundraiser.
To help with social distancing, the event was aired live on Facebook at 1 p.m. Nov. 8. Instead of having people congregate in one area, Tiger Lily Boutique at 1007 Smithville Highway served as the runway for models with viewers watching remotely.
Following the show, a private shopping event was held at Tiger Lily Boutique from 2 to 4 p.m. for those who purchased tickets. The private shopping extravaganza also featured food to enhance the experience.
The fashion show was held to raise money for Warren County School’s FUEL Program, which aids students whose main resource for food is the school system. The program packs bags of food for students to take home on weekends and extended breaks from school. The fashion show raised approximately $1,400 for the FUEL program.
“The main thing is we were still able to get donations and raise awareness for this very worthwhile program,” said Tiger Lily co-owner Kathryn Carden. “I don’t think a lot of people realize how bad it is with some of these kids not being able to get food at home.”
The fashion show involved 13 beautiful ladies who modeled for Tiger Lily Boutique. They were Kathryn Carden, Madalynn Pack, Robin Underhill, Phyllis Prater, Samantha Jennings, Jaden Smartt, Stephanie George, Jennifer van Vuuren, Lisa Carden, Grace Rains, Kataen Shockley, Leslie Hayes, and Sarah Cantrell.
They modeled the latest in fall and winter fashions and looked on point as many also added accessories such as jewelry, handbags, and shoes from TLB.
Even though COVID precautions hindered fundraising efforts, the Warren County community is still encouraged to knock out hunger by donating to the FUEL program. To do so, contact Sharon Hargrove or Delia Walker at the Warren County Schools Family Resource Center, 507-5180.
