The hunt is on. Milner Recreation Center will be hosting its annual Easter egg hunt on April 8 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Registration opened on Wednesday but will remain open up until the day of the event. Those who wish to register the day of the event can do so at the registration table at the Jungle Jym. Registration is $3 per participant.

Children ages 0-4 will have their hunt on Hoover Milraney Field, and those ages 5-14 will have their hunt on the Jungle Jym grounds.

Michael Benusches, facilities manager at Milner Recreation Center, stated the Easter egg hunt is a highly anticipated event. “We have been hosting this event since 2014 or 2015,” stated Benusches, also mentioning that he is certain they held similar events before then.

“It means a lot to us at the rec center to be able to put on the egg hunt for the community. We always get so excited when Easter comes around because we know we will get to put this together,” said the facilities manager.

Benusches hopes for a great turnout and explained how the event will go. “There will be no actual candy in the eggs,” he started. “All participants will receive a treat bag at the end of the event. During the hunt, they should be on the lookout for golden eggs. If they find one of those, they will get a prize. It’s typically a toy that is appropriate for their age range.”

Benusches and the Milner Recreation Center staff invite all those interested to attend in hopes of a great turnout and a day of Easter fun.
