A man investigators say was a drug kingpin has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for being in possession of more than 26 grams of meth and $8,000 cash. Rock Island resident James Edward Boyd, 45, had his charges taken to federal court due to their severity and his lengthy criminal record. Boyd’s prison time comes after he was pulled over in front of WCMS for driving with an expired tag on Jan. 20, 2017.
