Mayor Jimmy Haley says he has not put the fight to save our Driver Testing Center in park.“Unfortunately, the governor did not include the funding of our Driver Testing Center in his budget,” said Haley. The announcement was made during Tuesday night’s McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting. While aldermen said nothing, their expressions were that of shock.“This is a huge disappointment,” said Haley, “but I am remaining optimistic that additional money will be returned to Warren County which can be used to fund the center here. How these dollars will be used is yet to be determined, but we are hopeful a funding mechanism will fall into place within the next few weeks … allowing a valuable service to be preserved.”While no exact details were given Tuesday night, Haley said he will be speaking before the Warren County Commission this month and, by that time, there should be a plan in place.“We did it before by being persistent and working together as a team,” Haley said.
