The wait is over. Depot Bottom County Store made its official TV debut Thursday night with a segment on TN Crossroads, which aired on Channel 8.

To celebrate, Depot Bottom held a viewing party at the store to watch the six-minute segment, and no one seemed to mind the rainy weather.

“They were here for an entire day last month and I’m anxious to see how they pieced all the footage together,” said Olivia Young before the viewing party began.

At 7 p.m. sharp, everyone gathered at the front of the store around the big-screen TV and a hush fell over the crowd. The anticipation didn’t last long because Depot Bottom Country Store was the second segment in the episode. As soon as everyone heard the word “McMinnville,” a loud cheer erupted.

The segment focused on the store’s rich history, popular food items and fantastic fellowship. Many familiar faces were featured including county historian Jimmy Haley, Jarvis, Stephanie and Alyssa Johnson, Ryan Moore and of course, the Young family.

“I’m really proud and happy with the way it turned out,” said store owner Travis Young. “We’re continuing to make improvements to the store and planning for the future.”

If you missed the showing on Thursday, the episode will be aired again Sunday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m., according to Travis. It is a production of Nashville Public Television, which typically airs on channel NPT2 or can be viewed from its website.
