County rejects school request for money

It appears there is minimal interest by Warren County government to provide the Board of Education with extra money.The county Education Committee met Wednesday and rejected a request from the school system for 9 cents in additional property taxes. Also rejected was a request to take $1.5 million a year from the county’s debt service fund to pay for proposed building projects and renovations.“We don’t have a revenue problem,” said Commissioner Terry Bell, after more than an hour of discussing the school’s proposed budget. “We’ve got an expenditure problem.
