A woman with HIV will serve 90 days in jail for coughing on her probation officer.The woman, Stephanie Denise King, 43, could have faced up to six years in prison had she been convicted on her original charge of criminal exposure to HIV. However, she was allowed to plea to misdemeanor simple assault. She was directed by General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to serve 90 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and pay $369.The crime happened at her West Riverside home during a visit from her probation officer. The officer said he was conducting a home visit for King and the defendant had been coughing the whole time he was there.
