Victory Free Will Baptist Church will have homecoming. Also, revival services begin Monday until Wednesday at 7 p.m. There will be special singing each night and preaching by Rev. Bernard Honk. Monday night: The Sullivans; Tuesday night: The Kirbys; and Wednesday night: The Agees.


The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of McMinnville Housing Authority will be held at the Rebel Hill Community Room. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. and is open to the public.

McMinnville Alanon meets Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7 to 8 p.m. at the Episcopal Church on 105 Edgewood Ave.


Bigbee River Trail workers are needed for a work day on a new section of the trail at 9 a.m. Workers may sign in and park in the meadow of Sally’s Alley. The trail has been roughed in but needs to have treadway side slopes leveled and roots cut out with mattocks, picks, spades and shovels. Loppers and hand axes can be used on roots. Stiff bladed rakes can be used to level loose earth. For more information, call Wally Bigbee at 473-5968.

Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be having a free meal from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal consists of spaghetti, salad, rolls and cookies/ brownies. Everyone is invited to eat at church or pick up and take home. The church is located at 317 Liberty Lane.

Warren County High School class of 1979 will be holding its 40th class reunion at the Country Club. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., a group photo will be at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The cost is $40 per person. The class will also be attending the Homecoming football game on Sept. 27 with a social at Smooth Rapid after the game. The annual Lance Reunion is taking place Sept. 29 at Bates Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the fellowship hall. Everyone will eat at 1 p.m. Please bring a covered dish.

Cumberland Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 229 Rocky River Road in Rock Island, will be hosting The Caravan Singers on Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterward.

Quilts on the Pews will be held at historic First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the Autumn Street Fair. Admission is free. 

Singing at New Short Mountain UMC’s outdoor pavilion will take place Oct. 5 beginning at 5 p.m. The featured singers are The Agee Family, Testimony and Beth Harris. Bring your lawn chairs and quilts and come enjoy the fellowship. There will be hot dogs and all the fixings. The church is located at 7312 Short Mtn. Road, Woodbury 37190. If rain, the event will be held indoors.

Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville will be holding a Blood Drive on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bus will be parked beside First National Bank, 200 E. Main Street. The 25th annual Autumn Street Fair Cornhole Tournament is Oct. 5 at noon in downtown McMinnville. The cost is $10 per team with a $200 prize pool. Call 473-6611 for more information. Additionally, the Autumn Street Fair will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free admission.

The WCHS class of 1999 Reunion will take place Oct. 19 at the Farmers Market Pavilion from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be food trucks, live music and more. Ticket costs are $12.25 at or $15 at the door.
