MONDAY, AUG. 5

Lucky CIC will be having a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.


The Warren County Democratic Party monthly meeting is 6 p.m. at Gondola Restaurant. The speaker is Jordan Wilkins, chair of the Tennessee Democratic County Charis Association.


TUESDAY, AUG. 6

Westwood Church of Christ will have its free clothing giveaway from 8 to 10 a.m.


SATURDAY, AUG. 10

The Vine Baptist Church, 65 Robinson Road, will be having a free yard sale. Household items, clothes and much more will be given away from 7 a.m. to noon.


The annual Shady Grove Picnic will be held at the picnic grounds, 4976 Shady Grove Rd. in Morrison. There will be a petting zoo and kids games from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bingo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and homemade ice cream and concessions begin at 10:30 a.m. Field games start at 2 p.m. and the cake walk 4 p.m., live music from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and live auction at 6 p.m. For more information, call 723-8717.

Decoration Day at Old Bybee’s Cemetery, Midway community, will take place Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. Donations are appreciated for upkeep. For more information, call 686-2436 or 686-2600.


Narconon New Life Retreat would like to remind families to stay educated on the signs and dangers of drug abuse. Methamphetamines and opioids are on the rise in both rural and city areas. Decoration at Asbury Cemetery in Rock Island will be Saturday, Aug. 17. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. with a covered dish lunch with business meeting to follow. If you are unable to attend and want to contribute, make check payable to Asbury Cemetery Fund and mail to Monice McGiboney, 205 Hickory Court. All donations are used for cemetery upkeep.



Applications for the Baby Show for babies 6 months to 48 months of age at the Warren County A&L Fair are now available at JC Penney, Ashley’s Attic, Kathy’s Formal Wear, Southern Standard and Warren County Extension Office. Completed forms and a $30 registration fee must be postmarked by Aug. 28 and mailed to: AAUW, P.O.
