Monday, May 31


A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Warren County Memorial Airport. The event begins at 8 a.m. and includes a guest speaker and reading of the 131 names of Warren County residents who have died in defense of the United States of America. 


Friday, June 4


Decoration Day for Banks Cemetery in DeKalb County will be held June 4-6. Support is needed so the cemetery can be properly maintained. Someone will be onsite during decoration days to accept donations or they may be mailed to: Melinda Vanatta-Davis, treasurer, 2807 Blue Springs Road, Smithville, TN 37166.


Children’s Advocacy Center for the 31st Judicial District is holding its inaugural Champions for Children Golf Tournament beginning at 11 a.m. Team registration and lunch is at 11 a.m. with shotgun start to follow at 1 p.m. Teams of four are $300. Proceeds go to allowing the facility to continue operations.


Crossroads Shelter Aid and Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center will be holding a volunteer orientation at 6 p.m. in the Early Voting Room at the Administration Building. Educators will be present to explain tasks needed to keep shelters running smoothly and safely. Directors of both organizations will be present to answer questions about their respective volunteer programs.



Saturday, June 5


Relay for Life Blood Drive will be held in Historic Downtown McMinnville from 4 to 8 p.m. The event is held in conjunction with Relay for Life which will be held on Court Square. All donors will receive a free T-shirt and entered into a drawing for a 2021 Side-by-Side. To schedule an appointment, go to: bloodassurance.org/relayforlife or contact Debbie Sain at 473-3144. 


Decoration Day for Brick House/Rowland Station Cemetery, located on Hennessee Bridge Road, will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Donations can also be mailed to: Brick House/Rowland Station Cemetery; c/o Darryl Norris, 725 Grandy Road, McMinnville, TN 37110. No lunch. No auction. No business meeting.


Kirby Cemetery Decoration Day will be held June 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and June 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. Donations can be mailed to Kirby Cemetery Fund c/o Linda Dover, 27 Cricket Lane, McMinnville TN 37110. 


Sunday, June 6

                

Decoration Day will be held for Faulkner Cemetery. The business meeting begins at 1 p.m. Donations for upkeep of the cemetery can be mailed to: Faulkner Cemetery, 206 Old Shelbyville Road, McMinnville, TN 37110. 


Decoration Day Mt. View Cemetery on Highway 30. Mail donations for upkeep of cemetery to: Mt. View Cemetery, P.O. Box 7463, McMinnville, TN 37111.

The Warren County Retired Teachers Association will have a meeting June 10 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Leo Church of Christ. 

The program will be the necrology service for those who have passed away during the past year. Refreshments provided. All retired teachers invited. 


Lucky CIC is sponsoring a free night of Bingo on June 12 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
