Commissioners concerned about future traffic issues for EMS
BoydTeddyWEB
According to Commissioner Teddy Boyd, the county ran into the same situation when constructing an additional ambulance service.
When the dream of an advanced robotics training facility as grand as any in the nation becomes a reality for McMinnville it could also create traffic problems for Warren County EMS.EMS Station One is located at 103 Magness Drive and connects to Vo Tech Drive, which the department uses to access the bypass.Motlow’s robotic facility will be located on Vo Tech Drive next to Tennessee College of Applied Technology. The 12,500-square-foot facility will be located on 4.3 acres and is touted as a training center that will attract visitors from across the Southeast. When the project is complete, drivers may view any additional traffic congestion created as a frustration, but, to someone in need of emergency personnel, it could be a killer. The county Safety Committee is considering ways to avoid traffic congestion that may delay emergency vehicles and reduce response times.Consideration was given to restricting use of Omni Drive for business traffic only.
