Viola’s On The Road Again Show offered an evening of music and entertainment Saturday during Warren County A&L Fair.
“In Viola, we only have two items in our toolbox: WD-40 and duct tape,” said Kevin Deason, who emcees the event barefoot, dressed in overalls, and offering comedic commentary in between performances as Bubba. “If it moves and it ain’t supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should, WD-40. That’s it. It’s all you need.”
The show features local residents lip-syncing some of their favorite songs. Other newcomers included John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John by Steven and Hillery Helton with “You’re the One That I Want,” Lynyrd Skynrd by Billy Kesey, Arzie Templeton and Johnny Sweeton with “Call Me The Breeze,” and Willie Nelson by Gary Roberts with “On the Road Again.”
B.B. Elam, who performed as Deason’s “son Bubba J,” took the stage wearing a lifejacket.
Deason stated, “Son, what are you doing?”
“I’m ready for the hurricane,” said Elam.
Deason stated, “A hurricane? I’m not ready for no hurricane.”
“You better go to Walmart and get ready,” said Elam.
Deason stated, “OK, let me get dressed and we’ll go to Walmart.”
He slipped out of his overalls, revealing pajamas underneath, and added, “I’m ready to go to Walmart now.”

• Kenny Rogers by Tom Thaxton with “Coward of the County”
